Man did it ever look real.

Bridget received an e-mail from ebay today. I was going to delete it but for some reason I didn't. I actually opened it and read it. Well, from all outward appearances, it was from ebay. It also looked like you needed to update your account information. OK, I understand that, and the address 'appeared' nominal. But I was looking at the address you were supposed to use to update your information. It just didn't look right. The numbers in the link were..... unusual. I looked at the source code in the message and then the linked web page. Well. It was not from ebay alright. It was actually 99% correct. The links all pointed to ebay, the legal information was ebay an pointed to ebay and everything else was all for e-bay. The only thing is, when you entered in your account login and password, it sent it to a business in PA. Which, by the way is not ebay. So, they are able to steal your account info and if you have a credit card associated with the account, the get your credit card and can do what they want. I called the FTC and they are now investigating the criminal activity with this fraud. This is an excerpt of the e-mail I forwarded on to the FTC and treasury Department Reference: FTC ticket# XXXXXXXXX-XXXXX Check this out. If anyone enters in their information, you get taken to a site in Lithuania. The owner is listed in Lithuania and is going by the domain name of ebay.com (spoof). So, you go there, put in your account information and your account is then stolen. So, also, the next page is for a Colorado based company and they also will steal your login. The main company is a place in PA with technical support in FL. check out http://XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX/4line_b/v3r_info%253bay// which is in the original e-mail. every link is ligit, except the submit which seals your login information. (No silly, I didn't put in the real URL, I know how people are, and they would actually click on it) The original message is attached and everything you need to stop this criminal.
