Cold again

Once again, it is cold. So much so that I fired up the kerosene heater in the kitchen. I am just glad I filled up the kerosene cans before the price jumped 20 cents a gallon.

Another day at the mercy of the "Cell Phone Drivers",

Today's count for the number of drivers who were driving like crap because they were yakking on their cell phone:

8

Number of those drivers who erratically changed lanes (in front of me) without signaling a lane change because they were holding and yakking on their cell phone (while on the highway above 55MPH):

4

One person even was so involved in their conversation that they nearly ran me over in the Grocery store parking lot. Some enormous woman who could barely get between the seat and the steering wheel. She had one gyrating gelatinous arm frantically turning the steering wheel against what must have been a tremendious amount of friction from the wheel and her abdomen. All while the other fleshy hand was holding a cell phone to her head. I have to say, the French fry dangling out of her mouth might have shown another possible reason why she was oblivious to three people walking out of the store.

(Are you getting the idea of the size of this woman yet or do I need to continue?)
Or it could have been the fact that she didn't even slow down at a stop sign that first indicated there was another dufus at the wheel.

Frame change, Secure Memo

I am removing the link to Secure Memo. It was in the left frame and no one commented on if they liked it. So I am taking that as a "who cares" statememt.

This is the last reference to it.

the electronic carrot.....

During last weeks parent/teacher conferences, I finally fgured out what we can use as a motivater for Richard. Bribary always works. Of course, we have to have something that will get him in the mood to do better and that is....

BattleTech Firestorm @ Dave & Busters in Cincinnati

I really do think that this is one item that we can use. Richard (and William) love to play MechWarrior4 on the computers. This is much better. Besides, we still have about 400 credits on the Dave and Busters card from 2001.

If you have never played in the simulators for battleTech, it is awsome. It is like a viedo game you get into. Actually, you do get into a pod which closes and does everything but shake. I think that they should put in some transducers or actuators to get them moving or at least vibrating.

Sundays there is 5 swipes of your card and you can play from 1700 till midnight. Even though Richard would have to leave at 2200, (they kick the kids out at that time), he really should not be up past that time anyway.

One of the best parts is that Richard's teacher is in on this one. She is going to try and use this to get him interested in the various things he is not intested in. This will be interesting to see if it works.

More as it becomes available.

Which OS is better?

In the case of macs being smarter than pcs, or Linux over Windows?. I have no platform bias; I hate them equally. In other words, I am a platform agnostic.

The only way I do make a distinction is "payware" against "freeware". The freeware always has dominion over anything you have to pay for. Why? because we have surpassed the saturation point to where enough people want to make software just to say they did it or to have their name embedded in it for posterity.

Busy time

Sorry I have not posted lately. I have been rather busy. I am currently (well, not at this exact moment) writing a job proposal for creating a new position at a Cincinnati company.

Hope it works!

Is this true? Oh, hummmmm

I investigated the claims on this site to check the validity and apparently the things are true. I didn't want to post anything as ludricris as Moveon.org does so I had to see for myself. I am absolutly for free speech. I just want to know that the speaker is telling the truth. I am concerned with how much negative information is posted about John Kerry. Did the guy do anything worth a good word?.

My friend Barb posted this thought and site. I thought it was,..... well,...... Interesting

Who said it was going to be fair?

My friend asked "Why is it that it is "unconstitutional" to deny same-sex marriage (according to the gay rights advocates); however, it is not "unconstitutional" to take prayer out of schools?"

IMHO, I believe it is because with the prayer in school, someone elses belief is being forced upon another. Where as a marriage between two concenting individuals and is not supposedly forcing anything on another person.

Anyone care to comment?
