Accidential deaths by doctors

'Accidential deaths by doctors': Here are some tidbits for you to ponder when you are thinking about what your priorities are.
The number of physicians in the US is 700,000.
The number of accidental deaths caused by Physicians per year is 120,000.
The number of accidental deaths per physician is 0.171.      (US Department of Health & Human Services)

OK, now you have that statistic. Now check these numbers out....
The number of gun owners in the US is 80,000,000.
The number of accidental gun deaths per year is 1,500.      (all age groups)
The number of accidental deaths per gun owner is .0000188.
Statistically, Doctors are approximately 9,000 times more dangerous than gun owners.
FACT: NOT EVERYONE HAS A GUN, BUT ALMOST EVERYONE HAS AT LEAST ONE DOCTOR.
Please remember this the next time you hear someone trying to shout down a citizen speaking about the NRA.
Why is it that nurses have to recertify (different states stipulate differet time periods) and why is it that doctors do not recertify in order to practice? If a nurse is performing their role, and a doctor is practicing, who is better trained?

As a public health measure, I have withheld the statistics on lawyers for fear that the shock could cause people to seek medical attention.
Really, I work with doctors every day and I see what they can are capable of doing. These professionals I see are just that, pros at what they do. Why do I know this? Because I watch, listen, observe, and understand what they are doing on a day to day basis. I do not have any experience for physicians outside my field of view nor does anyone on this planet. It is just something you need to keep in the back of your mind the next time a physician tells you something and does not listen to what you say in response.
