Accidential deaths by doctors

'Accidential deaths by doctors': Here are some tidbits for you to ponder when you are thinking about what your priorities are.
The number of physicians in the US is 700,000.
The number of accidental deaths caused by Physicians per year is 120,000.
The number of accidental deaths per physician is 0.171.      (US Department of Health & Human Services)

OK, now you have that statistic. Now check these numbers out....
The number of gun owners in the US is 80,000,000.
The number of accidental gun deaths per year is 1,500.      (all age groups)
The number of accidental deaths per gun owner is .0000188.
Statistically, Doctors are approximately 9,000 times more dangerous than gun owners.
FACT: NOT EVERYONE HAS A GUN, BUT ALMOST EVERYONE HAS AT LEAST ONE DOCTOR.
Please remember this the next time you hear someone trying to shout down a citizen speaking about the NRA.
Why is it that nurses have to recertify (different states stipulate differet time periods) and why is it that doctors do not recertify in order to practice? If a nurse is performing their role, and a doctor is practicing, who is better trained?

As a public health measure, I have withheld the statistics on lawyers for fear that the shock could cause people to seek medical attention.
Really, I work with doctors every day and I see what they can are capable of doing. These professionals I see are just that, pros at what they do. Why do I know this? Because I watch, listen, observe, and understand what they are doing on a day to day basis. I do not have any experience for physicians outside my field of view nor does anyone on this planet. It is just something you need to keep in the back of your mind the next time a physician tells you something and does not listen to what you say in response.

If you want to read up on who or what is going on with doctors who are not up to standards, visit Questionable Doctors on the net. Another site to look at while your at it is at The Health Research Group at citizen.org.

Equipment Maintenance & Repair Company

The belt on the mower needs replacing. they have one waiting for Bridget to pick up.

I called Melissa and told her not to mow and that Bree was getting a new belt today.
The phone number for Equipment Maintenance & Repair Company is 513-752-0410.

You can't mow if the blades won't go!

Gmail, don't delete the account!

It was very late and I had created my new Gmail account. Oops, I didn't create the name I really wanted because I was rather sleepy. So I deleted it.

If you do this, don't expect any assistance in getting it fixed. It won't happen.

OK, I messed up. I admit it. but I don't think anyone read what I had written. If this was a test, then Google really doesn't want users who would "use" the account for real e-mail. The theory I have been constantly reading on the web is "the Gmail setup is just an advertising scheme to take business away from Yahoo, Hotmail and the like." And I say, the more power to them. I just would have liked a real address than what I mistakenly setup in their "one shot only deal".

The next bit is what I wrote and then the reply.

MY MESSAGE:

Subject: OK, I screwed up Date: Sun, 25 Apr 2004 08:41:28 -0700 (PDT)

Hello,

I was given an invitation to create a gmail account in conjunction with my Blogger-Plus account. I created the gmail account, but since it was the middle of the night for me, I created one I didn't want.

Since I didn't create what I really wanted, I deleted the account. (Big mistake) I had send a message to the account I really wanted and the apparently it was presumably available (I received an undeliverable response when I sent a message to it). I would really like to have a gmail account and would appreciate some help in obtaining the account in question.

Previously, what I wanted was xxxxxxxxxxx@gmail.com. The account I created was xxxxxxxxxx@gmail.com, which was associted with my blogger plus account and my other e-mail address "xxxx@xxxx.com". Is it possible to get some assistance in this or am I screwed?

Thank you very much for your time,

Todd

Thank you for your note. Unfortunately, there is no way to re-enable a Gmail account that has been deleted. Each invite link provides a user with the ability to create one account. Because Gmail is in a limited test period, we periodically issue a small number of new user invitations.

We are not able to reissue an invitation for you to create another account at this time. We look forward to announcing a wider release of Gmail, and we thank you for your patience.

Regards,

The Gmail Team
Well, if nothing else, I figure that since Google now owns Blogger, my Blogger account will be deleted, because I said something bad. This is expected. I have backed up everything I can, just in case they do just that.

Before it is too late!

Now here is one you don't see every day. I do not live in New York so I am not stepping into this steaming pile. I wonder who is more for or against it, the Left or the Right? It would be interesting to see if she actually did try and run. Just to see how far she would get.

Not even a weed-whacker will do this.

If it does not rain again in the next 48 hours, I think I will be able to get the really heavy stuff with a weed-whacker. the problem is that I believe it is supposed to rain a little more. At this rate, we are going to need to get some sheep or goats to get the grass under control. Especially the meadow down at the bottom of the valley.

What am I listening to?

Toyko 80 FMThis evenings music is from Toyko. Currently, I am listening to Toyko 80 FM. It is an interesting station. Don't ask me why, I just like it.

Mowing the grass is not going to happen today!

The grass is about 10 inches in some areas of the yard. Once again, the rain came down and sturated the whole area. I do not expect to get out to mow for at least 2 days.

Richie is not feeling well

Richard has been feeling bad since before last weekend. Since the symptoms have been very mild, We didn't pay a lot of attention to it.

On Friday, he said he had a tummy ache. That eventually passed. But on Saturday morning on the way to his ball game, he barfed all in the cab of the pickup. Needless to say, we didn't get to the game.

Today, Bree had to go pick him up from school because he was ill. when I got home, I took him to see our GP, "Dr. Mike". he did throat swabs and everything. then sent us on our way with prescriptions for antibiotics and cough medicine.

I am not sure if he will be going to school, but I think he probable will.

I went over to Living Longer. Their scheduling is a wreck and they know it. Hopefully I can help them straighten it out.

If this works, I am starting up the Miracle e-mail company.

HOAX ALERT (WAS: WORST VIRUS EVER )

This message is what I sent in response to a friend. While she was well meaning, she was sending spam to a large number of her friends.

Friends don't let friends spam people.

Do not be alarmed. This was a hoax. The person who sent this to all of us is absolutly well meaning, but was taken in by an internet hoax.

Before you send a message like this to others, be aware that you can look this up on any of the referenced sites. It is not there because it is just a variation of an old hoax. why do I say this?

#1.No one would make a big deal about a virus getting past McAfee antivirus because is is not that good.

#2.Microsoft does not classify any computer virus problems. Never has, never will.

#3.Never trust an message with spelling errors in the fact section of the message. If they can't spell, what makes you think they have any idea what a real computer virus is anyway.

#4. This is a reconstituted virus message. Actually, there is a variation of this same message (without the names and e-mail addresses) on hoaxbusters and at Trend Micro's web site for hoaxes.

If the original sender had checked their information first, they would have saved themselves a lot of time sending the original message, and everyone else who read it would have saved the time they wasted in reading it.

Blunt? Sure.

Mean, maybe.

My fault, NEVER.

The sender is responsible for sending spam. Neither you (the recipients of this message) or I am responsible for receiving spam. We just wasted time going through it. Absoultly no one person who received this message has any reason to be pissed at me. I just stopped the ignorant from panicing. If you have a PC, you have to be responsible. My 8 year old knew this was a hoax, because he looks things up before sending to his friends. Mainly because he would not have any friends if he forwarded them spam all the time.

Respectfully,

Todd

PLEASE SEND THIS TO EVERYONE ON YOUR CONTACT LIST ..!

A new virus has just been discovered that has been classified by Microsoft as the most destructive ever! This virus was discovered yesterday afternoon by McAfee and no vaccine has yet ! Been developed. This virus simply destroys Sector Zero from the hard disk, where vital information for its functioning are stored. This virus acts in the following manner: It sends itself automatically to all contacts on your list with the title "A Card for You". As soon as the supposed virtual card is opened, the computer freezes so that the user has to reboot. When the ctrl+alt+del keys or the reset button are pressed, the virus destroys Sector Zero, thus permanently destroying the hard disk. Yesterday in just a few hours this virus caused panic in New York, according to news broadcast by CNN. This alert was received by an employee of Microsoft itself.

So don't open any mails with subject: "A Virtual Card for You." As soon as you get the mail, delete it..! Even if you know the sender..!

Please pass this mail to all of your friends. Forward this to everyone in your address book. I'm sure most people, like myself, would rather receive this notice 25 times than not at all.

All clear on the Easter front

We are set for church tomorrow. The kids are all read to go so I hope it is a nice day.

I didn't get any mowing done today. Too bad, it was a nice day. Richard was feeling bad so I made him stay in bed most of the day. I believe he thought he was going to poay video games all day. Well, that didn't happen. I did make him stay in there but he didn't get any extra sleep.

I am not sure what the problem is with his tummy. He appears to just have an extremely mild case of what is going around but I doubt it. Most of the people who get the latest round of stomach virus are out of comission for about three days. He has had this for about a week.

Well, It is time for bed. I need to take some time to finish up about 40 posts I have started. I just do not have the time. Maybe next week.

Schedule updates.

I just started placing my calender updates. I should be done later this afternoon. William is at a birthday party and we have to go pick him up in a few minutes. I will finish up when the sun goes down. I have to finish mowing first.

You have to have your priorities.

That evil Bush Adminstration

Today, I read that MCI is cutting 4 thousand jobs because of the Bush Administration.

All because of the No-call list. Well, that. And maybe the millions of dollars that the executive members stole or what ever you want to call it.

Too bad, because I just loved boneheads calling me all times of the day and night to sell me a new phone package or a better home refinance rate.
