Their grades are outstanding once again!

Well, the kids all received very good grades this quarter. Yes, even Maryann did very good. It was very calming to see nearly all A's on everyones report cards. I am not going to say who had the best report card. That would make what I am writing much less special over all. We are both so happy, I think I might bust.

Just like a Timex....

I am very happy to say that I saw my Dad on his birthday. He was well and looked good (for only 76).

I flew down to see them and fix their computer the other day. Even though he says he is getting older, I still see him the same way. Hey, he's my Dad!

Anyway, he and Mom were good and healthy and were looked good. Who wouldn't look good when they live in Florida?

Under the weather is an understatement

I feel like crap. This is the first time I have marked off sick in the last year.

I think I caught something on the plane from Ft. Myers yesterday. Everyone was hacking, yacking and generally being contagious. I think the Doctor sitting next to me was the one who really did it.

I will have to mark back up in the morning so I can go to work.

I hate being sick and usually never get sick. That, and when I do, it normally only last half a day where in Bridget, a virus takes weeks to get over.

Christmas at home, the good, bad, and no show.

It appears that (for the most part) we have come through the Christmas holiday without any contusions or trips to the hospital. Things were either very good, or very bad and not for any of the same reasons.

Good Thing: My parents drove 1100+ miles from south Florida to spend time with us over the holiday. It was a very good thing for both myself and the kids.

Jon came all the way from Florida and could not seem to make it the last 3 miles to see me. I call that a kick in the face. It was devastating to all of us including my Dad. I pretty much think he is on his own now. I have no reason to keep up with him after this. All he wanted from me was the way in to the Navy. Well, he got it.

More cheesecake for me!

I bought some of the new Cheesecake filling from Philly Kraft. I really like it. It is the inside filling of a cheesecake in a tub. It tastes great on just about anything (but pasta and pizza).

The other morning, I fixed some toast and put the filling on it as a treat. It was really good. But when I saw Richard heading for the kitchen I noticed that he had not eaten his toast. He said it tasted bad and had already thrown all of his in the trash. Ok, this is a kid that (to my knowledge loves cheesecake. All the stuff was that I spread on the toast was the filling of a cheesecake. So what was the difference? Well, actually nothing.

So, he understands that he is not allowed to have any cheesecake when we buy or bake more. At least for a while. I am not a complete jerk.

Cable is not good TV

So far, I have been able to stop the terrible invasion of cable in the home. Things are not getting done here anyway because instead of doing the big things and the kids and my wife handling the little things, I have to do the small stuff too.

It is gratifying to have to stop in the middle of a big project where I am fixing something so unimportant as the roof, to cook dinner or get the DVD player to work. Like I give a crap about them watching a movie when they eat.
Unless something drastically changes, This house will colapse before I get the major repairs done prior to winter. A minor weather problem with it snowing later on this week might make fixing a leaky roof a moot point real soon.

Juggling my job, looking for another job (as always), fixing the house, listening to the kids and my wife complain all the time, and getting homework done at night is taking it's toll on me.

Now I wonder what will actually get done when the cable gets installed? Besides no one being able to sleep because she turns it up so damn loud and is a complete jerk when I repeatedly ask her to turn it down. It is not the kids fault she can't hear worth a crap, or mine either. So the kids and I keep on suffering with a hateful sleep.

I am so happy the cable is not on (for now) It gets installed next week I think. I try and not think about the problems it will cause. I really think that I could go without a TV for a very long time. I always prefered the radio.

Well, that is one less thing I have to do.

I finally took enough crap from Bridget over dinner that I snapped. "You know i don't like these kind of pickles" and "You know I don't like this type of Potato Salad", and when she started in on item number 3, I just lost it and said "Don't worry, I won't ever cook another thing for you". Then I picked up her dinner plate, took it into the kitchen and dumped the whole thing in the trash.

I don't mind someone complaining when something tastes bad. But when there is only so much to work with and a person complains about everything they have, in turn. Well, that is it.

So, now I will have more free time to do other things. It kind of goes both ways. I normally do not like her cooking. But I eat it even if I don't like it.

Was that enough to get the point across?.
